Responsible Charity – A Charitable Organization

There are so many people who try to make the world a better place. Have we ever wondered to do something like that? Something to change certain lives and make those lives believe; believe in society? Maybe the answer is to become a part of a charitable organization whose mission is to help bring forth such a nation where every human being is welcome and can survive in.
As quoted by Abraham Lincoln: “With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation’s wounds.”

So the question arises - What is a charitable organization?
A charitable organization centers on non-profitable acts and philanthropic goals as well as other activities serving the common people (for the common good).

Kinds of charitable organizations:

· Education

· Environment and Animals

· Health

· Human Services

· Public Benefits

Such a unique charitable organization is located in Kolkata, West Bengal which calls themselves “Responsible Charity”. It is a humanist charity providing education to the children of the slums and empowering the adults to overcome their poverty. In 2008, during a four month backpacking trip through India, the founder Hemley Gonzalez, experienced firsthand the abuse and horrible conditions which men and women were subjected to under a worldwide famous charity that collects millions of dollars from its donors but largely mismanages the donations. Disgusted and highly disappointed by the experience, he began working in the slums where he felt that his efforts were directly, positively and effectively changing the lives of those disadvantaged families they came into contact with.
After returning home, he began a campaign to raise awareness about the issues he experienced and the challenges the children of the Park Circus locality face daily and thus, Responsible Charity was born. Through a homegrown network of friends, family and volunteers in different regions of the world, they are now beginning to gather donations which they can track and report on their website and show exactly the progress and use the funds to allow them to administer the ones in need.
Unlike some organizations which have no progressive plans in effect to educate and empower the children, women and men out of poverty, Responsible Charity would like to make advances in areas of education, planned parenthood and self employment. Their vision is directly aimed at the evolution of compassion; and creating a new and transparent model for others to follow. Together, they are the change we wish to see in the world!

Ø Medical response

Ø Nutritional support

Ø Micro-loans

Ø Sustainable lighting

Anticipate charity by preventing poverty!
