The Rise of Diversion- The Vehicle for John Doe

The end of 2013 had witnessed the upspring of a new entrant into the Indian Political space called the Aam Aadmi Party. It is still too early to contemplate the potential impact of this entity on the National scene. What it is for us to neck out now is, if Aam Aadmi Party is going to be the next determinant factor in the people’s participation in politics in India.
“I can finally relate to people’s participation in Indian politics with the coming of Aam Aadmi Party. This I feel fulfils the requirement of a democratic nation”, speaks a veteran political analyst.
The people’s party is seen to be a detractor on the austerity stunts in the practice of public transport, shunning of red beacons and government bungalows. The party augments against corruption spread across the length and breadth of the country and materialize to offer fundamental amenities of low cost electricity (electricity tariff reduction up to 400 units), free water (680 litres for only existing piped connections) to its people. While such microscopic scrutiny of the functioning of AAP government is certainly exciting, it does not help us understand AAP as a political entity.

The initial leap of Arvind Kejriwal led AAP at the centre is undeniable regardless of its downbeat reporting in media for its anarchist approach. Their larger agenda of diversification across the country is currently underway. The approach taken by AAP think-tanks to quickly scale-up the party nationally is interesting.
Those nation-wide parties who live in their cuckoo world and think that AAP cannot scale up so speedily needs a wake-up call! There is outsized number of dispersed groups across the nation who has been vocal on local issues and typically get fair amount of media coverage also. Just foresee, if all these groups were to come together under the umbrella of AAP? What kind of a monster is espousing?
“It is high time that youth takes active participation in Indian Politics. The Aam Aadmi party sure is an eye opener for us. It tries to talk about real issues”, says Adhrita Sanyal, a college goer.

While AAP sustains in the turmoil or not is for time to test, but this fervour sure has unleashed a new wing to the dynamics of Indian Politics where every John Doe has his own right to protect and serve for the goodwill of his nation.
